Error when starting the development environment

This article contains a possible solution, if particular messages are displayed when starting logi.CAD 3.


Symptom 1: The following message appears in the Error Log view: Unable to load class "name" from bundle "number"

Causes

Solution

You have installed different versions of logi.CAD 3.
You are using the same workspace per started version of logi.CAD 3.

  1. Close logi.CAD 3.

  2. Restart logi.CAD 3 and enter a new workspace.
    Use a separate workspace for each started version of logi.CAD 3.

  3. Import the required projects into this workspace.

You use a workspace from a previous version of logi.CAD 3.

  1. Close logi.CAD 3.

  2. Start a command prompt and go to the folder where you installed logi.CAD 3.

  3. Enter this command: logiCAD3.exe -clearPersistedState

Afterwards you are able to start logi.CAD 3 by double-clicking logiCAD3.exe again.
The message is not displayed any longer.

Symptom 2: The following message appears: The default workspace "path/name" is in use or cannot be created. Please choose a different one.

Cause

Solution

You have imported a larger project in logi.CAD 3. This might have took some time because the workspace was being refreshed/built as well. For this action,logi.CAD 3 has locked the workspace.
You have exited logi.CAD 3 before logi.CAD 3 has finished building the workspace and the lock has been removed.

  1. Close logi.CAD 3.

  2. Go to the folder of the workspace. Switch to this sub-folder: .metadata

  3. Delete this file: .lock

  4. Restart logi.CAD 3.

If the message is still displayed, close logi.CAD 3 again and reboot the computer before restarting logi.CAD 3.

Symptom 3: The following internal message appears in the Error Log view: An internal error occurred during: "action"

Cause

Solution

You have imported a larger project in logi.CAD 3. This might have took some time because the workspace was being refreshed/built as well.
You have exited logi.CAD 3 before the specified action has been finished successfully.

  1. Close logi.CAD 3.

  2. Restart logi.CAD 3 and enter a new workspace.

  3. Import the required projects into this workspace without exiting logi.CAD 3 too early.

Symptom 4: The following internal message appears in the Error Log view: The -clean (osgi.clean) option was not successful. Unable to clean the storage area: path\configuration\org.eclipse.osgi

Cause

Solution

You have exited and restarted logi.CAD 3 at once using the same workspace. However, t he saving of the workspace was not finished yet before the restart of logi.CAD 3 .

Usually, you are able to ignore this message

Best practice f or the future starts of logi.CAD 3 is to wait a few seconds before you restart logi.CAD 3.
