Using project-local libraries
Neuron Power Engineer allows you to include custom libraries with user blocks directly in the current projects by default (= project-local mode). This ensures that projects are self-contained and the libraries used are independent of the Neuron Power Engineer version, thereby simplifying the sharing of projects with other users. Contact your system integrator to activate the project-local mode.
If the project-local mode is not activated, the default behavior is applied. Within the Neuron Power Engineer documentation, the term used for this default behavior is legacy mode.

Observe the following:
-
Project-local libraries are used in all projects created, imported or opened in Neuron Power Engineer. This means that when a library is installed, it is automatically copied into the hidden project folder
.libraries
. -
System libraries, e.g. the library
Standard (safe)
, are automatically copied into the project. Consequently, the system libraries become project-local libraries as well. -
When you update to a successor version of Neuron Power Engineer, the project-local libraries (including the system libraries copied into the project) are not updated automatically.
The following table highlights the differences between the legacy mode and the project-local mode:
Activity |
Legacy mode |
Project-local mode |
---|---|---|
When a library is installed,... | the library is only unpacked within the library cache. | the library is unpacked within the library cache and is also copied into the hidden project folder .libraries . |
System libraries... | are automatically unpacked within the library cache when a project is created or imported. | are automatically unpacked within the library cache and copied into the hidden project folder .libraries whenever a project is created. |
When you update to a successor version of Neuron Power Engineer,... | the system libraries are automatically updated. | system libraries are not updated automatically but can be upgraded manually. |
