Validation relating to the type

How to validate the →POUs and resources within a →project or →folder:

From the context menu of the project or folder, select Validate Object.
Result: The corresponding objects are examined based on rules according to the configuration for the project. The results of the examination are displayed within a Validate: object name view.

How to validate a POU or an interface:

  1. Expand the ST-object or the FBD-object displayed in the project explorer.

  2. Open the context menu for the POU displayed in the sub-level.

  3. Select the command Validate Object.
    Result: analogous to the validation that has been started for a project or a folder

Usually, the library elements are validated based on their library configuration before the library is installed (see "Validation relating to the library").

Validation relating to the instance

How to validate a →resource:

  1. Expand the PLC-object displayed in the project explorer.

  2. Open the context menu for the resource displayed in the sub-level.

  3. Select the command Validate Object.
    Result: All objects that are used starting from the resource are examined based on rules according to the configuration for the resource. The results of the examination are displayed within a Validate: object name view as well.

  • program →instance and program type that have been assigned with the resource

  • →function blocks for which the instance is called in the context of the resource (e.g. within the program type previously mentioned)

  • →functions that are called within the context of the resource (e.g. within a function block previously mentioned)

Validation relating to the library

How to validate a →library based on the library configuration:

  1. Expand the library configuration displayed in the project explorer.

  2. Open the context menu for the library displayed in the sub-level.

  3. Select the command Validate Object.
    Result: All objects that are specified within the library configuration are examined based on rules according to the configuration for the project. The results of the examination are displayed within a Validate: object name view as well.
