STRING variables cannot be created within the graphical editor

Symptom: Within the →graphical editor, it is not possible to create a variable of →data type STRING (also known as STRING variable or →character string). Example: The input max : STRING is not accepted for the content assist.

Cause: logi.CAD 3 requires a maximum length for a STRING variable. Information on the maximum length is listed under "Declaration of STRING variables (incl. access)".

Solution: Enter STRING[length] instead of just STRING. In case of a maximum length of 10, enter max : STRING[10] for the content assist.

Note: Within the list of declared variables (in particular within the dialog to create a variable), STRING[80] is automatically entered when selecting the data type STRING. Just o verwrite 80 in the field for the data type, if you need a different length.
