Considering changed hardware IOs

If you have already set up the access to the hardware IOs via EC-Engineer and hardware IOs on the EtherCAT fieldbus have changed, export the new ENI-file in →EC-Engineer as follows:

  1. In EC-Engineer, connect to the EtherCAT fieldbus (as detailed under "Accessing hardware IOs via EC-Engineer").

  2. Click Export ENI in the toolbar and drag the new ENI-file into a folder of the logi.CAD 3 project.
Take care that the name and sub-folder of the new ENI-file are identical to the previous name and folder of the original ENI-file .

  3. Synchronize the resource with the ENI-file: context menu of the PLC-object, command Synchronize with IO Providers
Result: logi.CAD 3 updates the existing declarations of the resource-global variables within the global-object that has been specified for IO_IMPORT within the PLC-object. This global-object also contains a comment specifying when the declarations have been updated.

  4. Make sure that no messages are displayed in the Problems view. These messages represent errors in the ST-code that might have been caused because of the updated declarations and that you must fix.
