Creating or editing comment fields in FBD

How to create →comment fields in the →graphical FBD-editor:

  1. Open the context menu for an element or the drawing field and select Create and Comment Field. Alternative: Press Ctrl+Shift+M.
    images/s/b2ic8e/9012/1ca6q62/_/images/icons/emoticons/information.svg By using the context menu for a →value field, a →call, a →connector, a →continuation, an SFC element (or the input/output of these elements) you will create an attached comment field . By using the context menu for the drawing field or other elements you will create a comment field without attachment .

  2. Position the comment field where you need it.
    During this user action, it is possible that affected lines are automatically rerouted. If the positioned element is presented with a red rectangle, the destination is not possible.
    images/s/b2ic8e/9012/1ca6q62/_/images/icons/emoticons/information.svg You might want to use the following key while positioning the element: Press the ESC-key, if you do not want to position the element and abort the action.

  3. Press the primary mouse button.
    Result: An input field is opened.

  4. Enter a text with one or several lines. A text with several lines is possible – press Shift+Enter .

  5. Press the Enter-key or click anywhere outside the comment field so that the comment field with the text is created. Press the ESC-key, if you want to discard the comment field.

How to edit the text in a comment field:

  1. Double-click the comment field and enter the new text.

  2. Press e.g. the Enter-key so that the new text is entered in the comment field. Press the ESC-key, if you want to discard the new text.
