Unexpected result when copying an FBD-object in the project explorer by dragging and dropping

Symptom in a logi.CAD 3 v ersion < 3.2.0 :

  • If you copy and paste an FBD-object within the project explorer by dragging and dropping, you must enter a new name for the FBD-object to be pasted. Nevertheless, the original name is used as POU name for the pasted FBD-object. Subsequently, there are name conflicts.

  • Afterwards if you change the name of the POU (by the command Rename Element) in order to fix the name conflicts, all existing calls of the original POU are changed to the new (renamed) POU. This automatic change is not according to the expectations of the user.

Solution 1: Use the logi.CAD 3 v ersion 3.2.0 or a subsequent version. When using such a version, the new name of the pasted FBD-object is automatically used as POU name. Subsequently, there are no name conflicts and the renaming action is obsolete.

Solution 2, if you are using a logi.CAD 3 v ersion < 3.2.0: Use the commands Copy and Paste provided in the context menu of the resource or the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V. When using these methods, the new name of the pasted FBD-object is automatically used as POU name as well. Subsequently, there are no name conflicts and the renaming action is obsolete.
