Error during installation, i.e. when extracing the download package

Symptom:

  • When extracting an installation package from the download package, the following message appears: The logiCAD3 executable launcher was unable to locate its companion shared library

Causes:

  • You are extracting the installation package directly from within the download package.

  • You are using a file archiver tool that does not process nested packages correctly.

Solutions so that the installation packages are extracted correctly:

  • Extract the entire content of the download package to a target folder on your system. Go to this folder and change to the sub-folder containing the installation packages. Extract the installation package from this sub-folder.
    Detailed instructions are specified under "Installing".

  • Possible alternative: Use a file archiver tool that processes nested packages correctly . Example: the free file archiver "7-zip" – download is possible under: http://7-zip.org/
