Not possible to load the application onto the Controllino

Symptom: After you have created a project based on a sample project for →Controllino (e.g. Moving Light for Controllino MINI), you have entered the correct COM-port within the PLC-object and then you have loaded the application onto the Controllino, the following messages are displayed:

The application for the PLC (resource "name", platform toolkit "Controllino...") cannot be created/loaded. Check the views "Error Log" and "Problems" for more information.
An error occurred during compiling/linking the metadata (error code: 1).

The displayed name of the platform toolkit depends on the used Controllino size.

Solution 1: Make sure that the generation of metadata is enabled before logi.CAD 3 is started.

  1. Go to the folder where you installed logi.CAD 3.

  2. Locate the file logiCAD3.ini and open it in a text editor.

  3. Search for -DLC3useRTS3MetaData.

  4. If this configuration variable is defined with value false, define the value true.

    Example for corrected lines
    ...
    -Xms256m
    -Xmx6144m
    -DLC3useRTS3MetaData=true

images/s/b2ic8e/9012/1ca6q62/_/images/icons/emoticons/information.svg By default, the generation of metadata is activated in logi.CAD 3. However, the generation has been deactivated due to -DLC3useRTS3MetaData=false (after the option -vmargs).

  5. Save the file.

Solution 2, if the generation of the metadata is activated:

Reset the Controllino by pressing the reset button on the Controllino. Then load the application anew.
