How to use the search functionalitaty in the online-version of the user documentation?

This search works only in the online-version of the user documentation!

  1. Click in the field of the quick search (at the right top of your screen). Alternative: Simply press g, g to switch the focus to the quick search field.

  2. Start typing the name of the wanted item (e.g. view) to see matches.

  3. Press the Enter-key to perform a full search within the user documentation at once (see step 4).

  4. In order to go to the appropriate description, click a match or select it (by using the mouse or the cursor movement keys) and press the Enter-key.

  5. If you do not see any useful maches and you want to perform a full search within the user documentation, click Search for 'element' at the bottom of the list. The full search lists all search results in a page. Click a title within this page to go to the appropriate description.
If there are too many search results, use the provided filter options to restrict the search results. If there not any useful results, enter another search term.

images/s/b2ic8e/9012/1ca6q62/_/images/icons/emoticons/information.svg You can use one or more wildcard characters in your search. For example, you could search for TO_*INT to find TO_UDINT, TO_UINT, TO_INT etc. Or search for TO_?INT to find TO_UINT, TO_LINT, TO_SINT etc.

Workaround for leading wildcards

Wildcards are not allowed at the beginning of your search. As a workaround format your search as a regular expression. Instead of searching for *_DINT or ?DINT, search for /.*UDINT.*/ and find BCD_TO_UDINT, TO_UDINT, TRUNC_UDINT, CTD_UDINT etc.

For more information on the search functionality and its restrictions, please see the Confluence documentation on search: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/search-139528.html
