Renaming resources

Avoid changing any given file extensions. Also do not change the given notation with lower case letters to upper case letters (or a combination of lower and upper case letters). This note applies always but especially if the objects are opened in editors!
Example: You have opened ST-object Program (its given name is Program.iecst when renaming). Do not rename the object to Program.iecplc or to Program.IECST.

Background information:

• logi.CAD 3 needs the file extension to open the object in the default editor and to display its content correspondingly (see under "Opening objects"). logi.CAD 3 opens an object without or with a different file extension in another default editor.
  If you do change the file extension for an object nevertheless and this object is already opened, logi.CAD 3 cannot take this change for the opened objects into account.

• logi.CAD 3 needs the file extension in lower case letters so the files with C-code are correctly created. Only if these files exist, it is possible to build and load the application onto the PLC .
  If you do change the file extension for an object to upper case letters or to a combination of lower and upper case letters, logi.CAD 3 cannot build the application correctly.

Solution: Close the object opened in an editor. Rename the object to the correct file extension (see under "Opening objects " for a list of all file extensions ). Then re-open the renamed objects so that logi.CAD 3 uses the valid default editor.
