"Values of Variables" view does not display all values because the limit has been reached

Symptoms:

  • The Values of Variables view displays values only for some of the inserted variables. There are variables for which --- is displayed instead of the values.

  • The following message is displayed within the error log: The requested variables have reached the limit of number. It is not possible to display more values.

Cause: The start option lc3.targetwatchlist.entries.max has been used in order to limit the displayed values for the Values of Variables view. Details on this start option can be found within the documentation "Administrator's Manual".

Solution 1:

  1. Scroll through the content until the required variables are at the top of the list. You might want to move already inserted variables to a different position within the list (see under "Inserting variables and monitoring values" for details).

  2. Press the F5-key in order to refresh the values for the variables. The values are requested beginning at the top of the visible variables, continuing downwards until the limit has been reached.

Solution 2: In the view Values of Variables, delete the variables that are not relevant right now. Alternative, if several →editors are opened : Close one of the editors so that fewer values are displayed.

If the above solutions do not have the desired effect, check whether the error log contains other messages. In this case, the article "Errors for variables within Values of Variables view" might contain a valid solution as well.
